SHAWFEST #2 goes ahead in St Peter’s Hall, Partick and the nearby Sparkle Horse bar on September 24 and 25. The festival, which aims to raise funds for the trust set up in memory of Islay-born musician Fraser Shaw, who died in May 2015 aged thirty-four, will feature a craft fair, a silent auction, pottery and knitting demonstrations, face-painting, and a workshop on the truth about stress as well as musical events. Attractions include the Blas Collective, which comprises folk scene stalwarts Jenn Butterworth (guitar), Adam Sutherland (fiddle), Hamish Napier (keyboards), Laura-Beth Salter (mandolin) and Steve Foreman (percussion), plus German folksong specialist Carla Feuerstein and multi-instrumentalist Seán Gray, of the Paul McKenna Band.
