US TRIO Green Day will return to Scotland on July 4, 2017, to play a headline show in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park. The show is in support of their 12th studio album, Revolution Radio, which was released by Reprise Records in October.

Main support on the date will come from Rancid, who last year re-issued their record ‘…And Out Come The Wolves’ on it’s 20th anniversary. Tickets are now on sale.

THE FESTIVAL City Theatres Trust, which runs the Festival and King’s Theatres, has announced a full programme of "relaxed performances" for audiences of all ages for the 2016/17 festive season. This year the performances include shows for children from Edinburgh’s special schools, and performances for audiences of all ages with additional support needs.

Performances will include Scottish Ballet’s Hansel & Gretel at the Festival Theatre, December 20.

KNOWN for their Spanish-language re-workings of Morrissey songs, Mexican band Mexrrissey have announced a new single and UK tour for 2017. Released on January 27, Entre Más Me Ignoras, Más Cerca Estaré (The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get) is taken from the band’s debut album No Manchester (Cooking Vinyl) and takes the original song into romantic bolero territory.

Along with DJ and producer Camilo Lara, founder of the electronic music project Mexican Institute of Sound (M.I.S.), a super-group of Mexico’s leading contemporary musicians will pay homage to The Smiths on the UK tour, with Chetes (Zurdok) on guitar, Jay De La Cueva (Moderatto/Titán) on bass, Ceci Bastida (Tijuana No) on keyboards, Alex Gonzales on trumpet (Twin Tones) and Ricardo Najera on drums.

The band play Glasgow on January 25 at the 02 ABC.
