1. Tell us about your Fringe show
My show is an hour that pokes fun of both what its like to be a twenty-something American with brown skin and also poking fun at what you expect that hour to be. There are no accents. Seriously, if I do an Indian accent, shoot me.
2. Best thing about the Fringe?
I've done stand-up comedy for eight years now. I love performing. The Fringe lets me do my own show every single day to a brand new audience. It's kind of the best thing ever.
3. Worst thing about the Fringe?
The worst thing about the Fringe is my inability to not lose my voice at some point. Part of this is because in addition to doing close to 100 spots (including my own show) during the Fringe, I drink lots of beer and take zero percent care of my body. In my defence, beer is delicious and I like to drink it. Plus not having a fully functional voice won't stop me from doing the hour of stand up every night. I'm a slow learner, but again in my defense, seriously, beer is delicious.
4. How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?
This will be my fifth year at the Fringe. I have had zero reviews in the past four years. Not zero good reviews, but zero reviews period. Will I go 5 for 5 in terms of years without a review despite full audiences? Stay tuned!
5 Favourite Fringe venue?
Dropkick Murphys, which is where my show is this year.
6. Best Fringe memory?
Waking up after a night of drinking at the gym on an elliptical machine. You ever get so drunk you become responsible? Only at the Fringe!
7. Best heckle?
Stop heckling comedians you monsters. If you want to talk so much, go get your own show. Besides, any comedian worth his or her salt can handle a heckler. You really want to hurt a comedian's feelings? Silently get up, and walk out in the middle of the show. You want to make it worse? Silently cry as you leave. I guarantee that would work.
8. Craziest on stage experience?
A couple of years ago I performed in a dungeon called the New Waverly Arches by the train station. The power went out, but I finished the show anyway (thanks to the audience members lighting me with their mobile phones), because I'm a professional.
9. How do you wind down after a show?
I drink. You should try it sometime. Highly recommend it.
10. What do you love about Scotland?
The whisky. Its good.
11 What do you like about Edinburgh?
The whiskey. Its good. Wait do I have a drinking problem?
12. Favourite Scottish food/drink?
The whisky. Its good. Wait oh no I might have a drinking problem.
