THE wind soloists of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra are to release a new album.
After a well received debut album, Mozart Divertimenti, the group has recorded Beethoven - Music for Winds on Linn Records.
The works show off the different combination of SCO players, including a Sextet, a Duo, an Octet, a Rondino and a March.
The SCO Wind Soloists comprise pairs of oboes, clarinets, bassoons and natural horns.
The SCO Wind Soloists appear regularly in chamber concert series across Scotland including a performance at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in the presence of HRH The Prince Charles.
They will launch their new album in several concerts, including the RCS in Glasgow on February 9, the Town Hall in Ayr on February 10, the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh on February 11 and the Wigmore Hall in London on February 12.
Tickets are available from the venues, and albums will be on sale at each concert.
The musicians are: Robin Williams – Oboe, Rosie Staniforth - Oboe Maximiliano Martín - Clarinet, William Stafford - Clarinet, Peter Whelan - Bassoon, Alison Green - Bassoon, Alec Frank-Gemmill - Horn, Harry Johnstone - Horn

A major collaborative project will be carried out between Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and La Ira De Dios of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2018.
The artists involved will be Birthe Jorgensen, based in Glasgow, Scott Rogers, also based in Glasgow, and Santiago Poggio of La Plata, Argentina.
With the support of the British Council, the two artists from Scotland and Argentina will participate in a research residency at La Ira de Dios in February.
This will be followed by a production residency at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop during the months of June and July of this year.
The project will be marked by a joint exhibition that will be part of the official program of the Edinburgh Art Festival in 2018.

Thomas Dausgaard has been reappointed as BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra's Chief Conductor
The BBC SSO said Dausgaard’s position will be extended for a further three years after his current contract ends in September 2019.
He has conducted the orchestra at the BBC Proms, the Edinburgh International Festival, Celtic Connections, and on a major European tour, as well as regular concerts across Scotland, at the orchestra’s home at Glasgow’s City Halls, and on BBC Radio 3.
Dausgaard, who was recently appointed Music Director of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra from 2019/20, will continue as Chief Conductor of the BBC SSO through to the 2021/22 season.
He also holds positions as Chief Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra (becoming its Conductor Laureate from 2019), and Honorary Conductor of both the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra della Toscana.
Dausgaard said: "The fearless excellence of the BBC SSO, our beautiful hall and great audience makes for a dynamic and irresistible cocktail. I am thrilled to make music here and am delighted now that we have an even longer perspective for our many exciting plans. Details of his forthcoming 2018/19 appearances with the BBC SSO will be announced as part of the orchestra’s season launch in March 2018.
