Traverse unveils Festival plays

A SERIES of new plays, including three one-actor dramas, are part of this year's Festival programme at the Traverse Theatre.

Its Breakfast Plays will also pair young Scottish playwrights with leading writers Ella Hickson, Kieran Hurley and Sabrina Mahfouz.

Ulster American by David Ireland will be a world premiere, a "devastating" tale of the gross abuse of power in the cultural world.

On the Exhale is a one woman show by Martin Zimmerman that is inspired by the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Coriolanus Vanishes is a one-person play once performed by David Leddy and now performed by Irene Allan, and The Greatest Play in the History of the World will star Julie Hesmondhalgh, known for her parts in Coronation Street and Broadchurch, in another one-actor play.
