Dir: Baltasar Kormákur

With: Shailene Woodley, Sam Claflin

Runtime: 96 minutes

ICELANDIC director Baltasar Kormákur (The Deep, Two Guns) has a great story to work with here in the true tale of Tami and Richard (Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin), who set out to sail from Tahiti to California only for a vicious storm to wreck their boat. Woodley (Big Little Lies, Insurgent) is a producer on the film and does the lioness’s share of the heavy lifting as the resourceful Tami, but Claflin (Me Before You) makes his presence felt as her reason to keep going. Low key fare for the most part, but the storm scenes are genuinely terrifying.
