BASED on a novel by Nick Hornby, Juliet, Naked is a sweet, reserved romantic comedy set in a sleepy English coastal town, which revels in the power of music to anchor our emotions to a specific person or time. Ethan Hawke plays a reclusive singer-songwriter who reeks of regret and Rose Byrne is the dissatisfied thirty-something who forges an unexpected bond with her boyfriend's musical idol. It's a preposterous set-up for a love triangle that reaches a crescendo of implausibility when Hawke performs an impromptu rendition of The Kinks' Waterloo Sunset.

AS the closing gala for this year’s Glasgow Film Festival, Felipe Bustos Sierra’s enthralling documentary had the audience on its feet cheering. Little wonder. He has a great story to tell about a group of workers at the Rolls Royce factory in East Kilbride who in 1974 refused to work on planes being used by Pinochet to bomb civilians in Chile. The Scots engineers, every one of them a dream interviewee, unassuming way, never knew what impact their actions had. Sierra travels to Scotland to fill them in, revealing his own link to the story along the way.
