THE National are to perform two nights as part of the Summer Nights festival at the Bandstand in Kelvingrove, it has been announced.
The line up for the annual concert series also includes Burt Bacharach, Caro Emerald, Teenage Fanclub, Suede, Patti Smith, Father John Misty, The Human League, Echo & The Bunnymen, Bloc Party, and a full band show by Hue & Cry.
It will run from 26 July to 10 August.
Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music said: "We are delighted to have such an incredible array of talent, both home-born and international, including some true music legends all performing at Summer Nights this year. Kelvingrove Bandstand has such a fantastic atmosphere and the feedback we have had from both artists and audiences is that they have a great time being there”.
Burt Bacharach said: "I'm looking forward to joining Glasgow's opening night concert at your Summer Nights at the Bandstand Series.
"See you there this summer and I will hold off playing Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head until the end so as not to tempt fate as I hear it rains a lot in your beautiful green city.”
Pat Kane, Hue and Cry, said: “One of my first ever singing gigs was at the Kelvingrove Bandstand - trying to save the world in some shape or form, as I remember… It has become one of Glasgow’s iconic venues, and we are so proud to be playing it. We expect tears, dancing, joyous laughter - and blazing summer sunshine. Guaranteed of course!"

THE Knockengorroch festival, in Galloway, has revealed its line up for 2019.
Syrian singer Omar Souleyman will head the bill at the roots music festival.
Other acts include Elephant Sessions and the 2019’s Belhaven Bursary for Innovation winners Talisk.
Moonlight Benjamin will play for the first time at the festival, and other acts include Griogair Labruidh and rapper, multi-instrumentalist and singer Dizraeli.
Liz Holmes, festival organiser, said: "We’re overjoyed to be hosting some of the most incredible music from across the globe, side by side with tradition and talent from Scotland.
"Everyone is invited to celebrate differences and shared commonalities in our very own world ceilidh in the hills.”
Other artists confirmed include Knockengorroch’s own new music commission Oran Bagraidh featuring a blend of Welsh, Scottish Gaelic, Irish, Scots and English from Gwyneth Glyn, Josie Duncan, Lorcán Mac Mathúna, Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde, Barnaby Brown, Bragod, Conor Caldwell and MacGillivray as well as Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers, Mungos Hi Fi Sound System, DJ Jerome Hill, The Honey Farm, Delightful Squalor, Omar Afifand Gnawa Trance Fusion, Gypsy Roots, Bristol Branch, The Matatunes, Awry, and the Dalmellington Silver Band.

THE Scottish Book Trust has unveiled a new Bookbug app.
The Trust received a grant from the Scottish Government to develop and deliver a digital element to the Bookbug programme.
The new Bookbug app has songs and nursery rhymes, and a way of helping families to find their nearest Bookbug session.
Marc Lambert, chief executive of Scottish Book Trust, said: "We’re excited to launch the new Bookbug app as part of Scottish Book Trust’s wider digital strategy and our aim to be a digital leader in our field.
"We trust the app will become a well-used aid for families and the Early Years professionals who support them, building on and amplifying all the good Bookbug already does.
"Our thanks to Dubit for working with us to create this fantastic digital platform, which should be an asset to every parent and early years professional in Scotland.”
