1 Tell us about your Fringe show

HOW I WON BEST NEWCOMER 2017 is packed full of joy, laughter, wisdom, and defiantly on-trend headband action. I combine jokes and true stories from my, frankly incredible, life with a level of humility that would make Ghandi blush.

Plus, I’ve thrown in plenty of positive advice about how you can be as successful as you deserve. This show is an autobiography, a sermon and a pool party rolled into one. Prepare to lean about me (and yourselves) while soaking wet.

2 How does it feel to be playing the Fringe for the first time?

Liberating. Finally, I get to do what I’ve been telling friends I should be doing for most of my adult life. Watch out Edinburgh, dreams are becoming reality.

3 Best live act you’ve seen at a Fringe?

Nick Helm. He sold me a foam finger then shouted in my face for over an hour. If that’s not entertainment then I don’t know what is.

4 Best thing about the Fringe?

At the fringe, anything goes. Audiences are up for whatever gets thrown at them so we get to do jokes, stories, tasteful nudity and, in my case, inspirational life changing wisdom. All that and the soothing sound of bagpipes on every corner. What more do you people want?

5 Worst thing about the Fringe?

The elevation. By week three the festival feels like a hillwalking holiday crossed with an acid flashback.

6 If you were not a performer what would you be doing?

Marrying rich.

7 How do you combat pre-gig nerves?

I’ve never really been a nervous person. There are only three things in life I find terrifying: shark attacks, Clive Owen movies and gigging in Devon.

8 Worst on stage experience?

My dad only saw me gig once. At one point he shouted “Get back in my nuts!” I like to think it was his first time seeing my act and it was so truthful he confused the Ben Fogg on stage with the Ben Fogg he used to joke with at dinner. Either that or he was just flat drunk. Whichever it was, he made that whole gig just insanely hilarious and I miss that guy every day.

9 What do you love about Scotland?

The wine.

10 What do you like about Edinburgh?

The way the locals tolerate what is essentially 10,000 self-involved imbeciles invading their city every August. Thanks guys, we really need this.

11 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?

High-fived Andy Murray.

12 Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Diet Iron Bru (no really, I live off that stuff while I’m up here).
