MASSAOKE: CLUB LA LA is every Thurs-Sun 23.45 at the Spiegeltent Palais Du Variete in Assembly George Square Garden.

1 Tell us about your Fringe show

Massaoke’s Club La La is the late night show where a live band smashes out all the greatest singalong anthems of all time whilst the lyrics are projected on a screen so the entire audience can singalong together as one. Then, just when you think it’s over we get on the decks and DJ until we’re pulled of the stage. It’s part gig, part club night and all just about the most fun you’ll ever have

2 Best thing about the Fringe?

Everything, we all absolute love it. It’s like a month long Christmas for performers and people in the arts - so maybe if I had to put it down to one thing it would be having all these amazing creative people in one place long enough to really get to know each other

3 Worst thing about the Fringe?

The hangovers

4 How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This will be our 4th year. I’m not sure I could ever not do it now - the FOMO would be too much

5 Favourite Fringe venue?

We all absolutely loved our old venue, The Nightclub at Gilded Balloon, it has a proper late night vibe to it. But we’re so excited about our new venue, the Spiegaltent Palais De Variété in Assembly George Square Garden. We’ve played in a lot of Spiegeltents over the years and there’s just something magical about them, I genuinely can’t wait!

6 Best Fringe memory?

That's a tough one, there are so many. I remember the satisfaction of when we finished our first run in the Pleasance Ace Dome and that feeling that me and the boys had survived it was an amazing feeling. I still look back at the photos from that last night really fondly.

7 Best heckle?

We don’t really get heckles, we did once have someone throw beer over the stage and blow up our keyboard. We also had someone shout ‘Play 500 Miles again!’ just as the last note of 500 Miles was ringing out.

8 Craziest on stage experience?

That's easy – John Robertson, the dark lord of comedy himself, is a regular guest performer with us. He was singing and decided to go full rock star and climb on the monitor and lean out into the audience. Unfortunately, the monitor wasn’t onboard with this and decided to collapse sending him tumbling into the audience, mic still in hand, never missing a note as he face-planted onto the dance floor. He’s always one of our favourite guests!

9 How do you wind down after a show?

Winding down after having several hundred euphoric punters singing back every word at you is actually quite hard as we’re all buzzing so much. Usually a couple of late drinks in The Loft does the trick though

10 What do you love about Scotland?

The people. Some of our most fun and raucous gigs are in Scotland!

11 What do you like about Edinburgh?

It's stunning. Everywhere you look from the hills to the architecture is just so bloody beautiful. I’m surprised I haven’t been run over yet rubbernecking Arthur’s Seat or some of the beautiful old mansion blocks

12 Favourite Scottish food/drink?

I absolutely LOVE haggis and would eat it every day if I could

13 Sum up your show in three words

Pure unadulterated fun
