THE Tron Theatre Company has announced that Sam Gough, currently general manager at Summerhall in Edinburgh, is to be their new executive director.

He will join the company in early September 2018.

The Tron is celebrating its 35th year as a producing and receiving theatre, and artistic director Andy Arnold is in his 10th year.

Shereen Nanjiani, Chair of the Board of Tron Theatre Company said: "We are delighted to welcome Sam Gough as our new Executive Director.

"Sam has an impressive track record managing venues and leading organisations at a senior level."

Mr Gough has been at Summerhall for six years, years in which the former Vet college has become a major Fringe and all-round arts venue.

ATLAS Arts is to present Ragadawn, a sunrise performance in the Isle of Skye by the internationally-renowned, Norwegian artist, writer and performer, Caroline Bergvall.

In collaboration with Gaelic speakers on the island, Bergvall has devised a piece using music, text, and voices.

It will be performed between dawn and sunrise within the grounds of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on 25 August.

Following the performance there will be a communal breakfast.

For this Atlas is collaborating with local suppliers.

In 2018 there will be three site-specific performances of Ragadawn; the premiere will be with Atlas Arts in the Isle of Skye followed by two in Marseille, France, in October.

MUSIC from the latest Star Wars film Solo - A Star Wars Story will be performed live for the first time outside of the USA this week, by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) to audiences in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

The RSNO will present the 'Rest-of-World premiere' of a theme written by multiple award-winning composer John Williams for the latest Star Wars film, Solo - A Star Wars Story.

The new piece, entitled The Adventures of Han will feature in Classics at the Movies and will appear at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh on 15 June, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 16 June and at the Caird Hall, Dundee on 17 June.
