ABERDEENSHIRE engineering firm Ecosse Subsea Services has secured a multi-million credit facility from Handelsbanken to help it pursue growth in sectors such as renewable energy. The Banchory-based firm, which provides tools used in services such as seabed clearance and trenching, plans to tender for larger contracts on projects involving work such as the development of wind farms and related infrastructure off the UK. It has been encouraged by signs of recovery in the oil and gas sector. Ecosse sees opportunities to sell its technologies in emerging markets in the Baltic Sea, the Far East and USA. Managing director, Mike Wilson, said as the company won larger contracts clients required it to have more sophisticated banking facilities than it had been using. He added: “We are delighted to partner with Handelsbanken who have been supportive and flexible in their offering.”
