United Auctions sold 62 pedigree Limousin bulls at Stirling on Monday to a top of 12,000gns for the June 2015-born, overall champion from Bruce Goldie, Townfoot, Mouswald, Dumfries.

The Goldies herd arrived at Stirling having had the top Limousin herd average at the preceding four sales at the venue. Their 12,000gns bull represented a remarkable third consecutive sale top price, and four out of the last five, for the herd at Stirling Limousin sales.

The final average levelled at £5102 (+£501 on the year for a 91 per cent clearance).

C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 89 store heifers in Dumfries on Monday to a top of 238p per kg and an average of 200p (+2p on the fortnight), while 85 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 272.5p and levelled at 216.3p (+7.7p). Twenty six store, B&W bullocks sold to 178p and averaged 142.6p (+2.6p), while 5 store bulls peaked at 253.5p and levelled at 237.8p (+17.8p).

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 60 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 236p and an average of 213.4p (+6.1p), while 68 store bullocks peaked at 265.4p and levelled at 214.4p (-1.4p).
