United Auctions sold 120 pedigree Simmental bulls at Stirling on Monday to a top of 21,000gns and an average of £6066 (+£391 on the year for a 75 per cent clearance), while 10 pedigree Saler bulls peaked at 12,000gns and levelled at £6983 (+£1895 for a 94 per cent clearance).

Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 23 prime heifers in Lanark on Monday to a top of 248p per kg and an average of 221.3p (-1.9p on the week), while 9 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 225p and levelled at 207.8p (-4.6p). Twelve prime, B&W bullocks averaged 138.8p (+1.1p).

In the rough ring 61 beef cows averaged 124p (-2.5p) and 60 dairy cows levelled at 98p (-4.3p).

The firm also sold 1946 prime hoggs to a top of £104.50 per head and 242.7p per kg to average 167.3p (+0.4p).

The 408 heavy ewes forward sold to £142.50 and averaged £70.35, while 457 light ewes peaked at £68.50 and levelled at £41.37.

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 54 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 271.2p and an average of 213.3p (no change on the fortnight), while 87 store bullocks peaked at 285.7p and levelled at 221.2p (+6.8p).
