JAMIE Andrew has been appointed chairman of the TRI Capital angel investment group following the retirement of Rob Dick from the position. The Borders-based group believes he has the experience and skills to steer TRI Cap through the next stage of its development. An engineer by training , Mr Andrew started a business working in areas such as marine propulsion systems in 2001, and has been an active member of TRI Cap since 2005. He said: “I am delighted to be taking on this important role. TRI Cap has the capacity to support and help to develop early stage businesses throughout Scotland but principally in the Scottish Borders, Lothians and North East of England where levels of innovation and skill are also high.” Founded by 10 businessmen as Tweed Renaissance Investors in 2004, TRI Cap has more than 60 investor members with interests in investee companies in sectors ranging from textiles to biotechnology.
