JAMES Millar, the co-founder of Fusion Whisky, has been honoured by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Mr Millar, who served as political adviser to the late Conservative MSP Alex Johnstone, was the only Scot to receive the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2017. He received the honour for his contribution to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the UK. Fusion’s debut whisky, The Glover, was named in honour of “Scottish Samurai” Thomas Blake Glover
