SOCIAL Enterprise the Wise Group has appointed Sean Duffy as its new chief executive.
Mr Duffy is currently commercial director of Newsquest Scotland, publisher of The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times. He will replace Laurie Russell, who will retire after holding the post for 11 years, early next year.
Prior to joining Newsquest Mr Duffy held senior roles at FirstGroup, National Express and STV Group.
Stuart Patrick, who chairs the Wise Group board of trustees, praised Mr Russell for his inspirational leadership and said Mr Duffy was the standout candidate to replace him. “He has a strong private sector track record and has been a leading player in securing and delivering high profile, complex public sector contracts,” Mr Patrick said.
