A SCOTTISH health and safety software company plans to create more than 50 jobs by the end of this year as it targets international expansion, after securing a £3 million growth capital investment from NVM Private Equity.

SHE Software, which is still majority-owned by chief executive Matthew Elson, will use the funding to create 15 highly skilled jobs in a new office in the US city of Chicago.

The firm plans to double the size of its development team at its East Kilbride head office.

SHE Software is the creator of Assure, a platform aimed at helping businesses to achieve and demonstrate health and safety compliance while also generating cost savings by reducing the administrative burden.

The company said the cash injection had rounded off “an incredibly successful quarter”, highlighting its introduction of multilingual functionality to its software and the arrival of 12 new employees across its UK and New Zealand offices.

It noted it had, over the past nine months, worked with 34 new customers in various industries in the UK and overseas, with half of these relationships starting in the last three months.

NVM investment director Charlie Winward, who is becoming a non-executive director of the East Kilbride firm, said: “SHE Software is a great example of the kind of exciting business we are seeing in Scotland.”

Mr Elson said: “We are delighted to work with our new investors at NVM and to seize the tremendous opportunity we have to penetrate the North American market.”
