UK manufacturers’ order books weakened in February, but remained well above their long-run average, a survey by the Confederation of British Industry shows.

The sector saw a weakening of both overall and export order books. The survey signals healthy growth in manufacturing output volumes over the three months to February.

The EY ITEM Club think-tank said: “The survey points to some loss of momentum in the manufacturing sector.”
