Food firm Bells boosts its team

BELLS Food Group has strengthened its senior team as it gears up for expansion.

The Lanarkshire pie and pastry maker has made three appointments to its board, including third generation family members David M Bell (logistics director) and Samantha Murray (finance director).

Sales and marketing director Gordon Smith has also joined the board, while Debbie Briody has arrived as group operations director from Highland Spring.

Managing director Ronnie Miles said: “We are delighted with our new senior appointments and they signify a real step change for the business, as we build capacity and expertise at a senior level to continue our ambitious expansion and innovation plans."

Shand appointed to new tech role at PwC

DOUGLAS Shand has been appointed to the new role of director of technology and innovation at accountancy firm PwC in Scotland.
The move comes as the firm expands its digital service, under which it aims to build partnerships with technology businesses that can help deliver innovative solutions to existing and prospective clients.
Mr Shand joined PwC in 2015 as head of innovation incentives for Scotland, having worked in technology for more than 25 years. A  former director of innovation at Oracle, he said his new appointment “reinforces our commitment to a rapidly changing digital environment for business.”
