SCOTLAND’S finest entrepreneurs are to be honoured in a new competition which gets under way today.

Nominations are being sought from all over the country for The 2018 Summit Entrepreneurship Awards, with start-ups, family firms, corporations, social enterprises and public sector groups all urged to take part.

The competition builds on Entrepreneurial Scotland’s national awards, established 22 years ago, and incorporates the existing Entrepreneur, Scale-up and Rising Star of the Year awards.

Previous winners include Jim McColl, David Sibbald, Ann Budge, Mike Loggie, Gareth Williams. Lucinda Bruce Gardryne and Mike Welch.

The 2018 Summit Entrepreneurship Awards introduce feature four new categories, with awards going to the country’s intrapreneur, social entrepreneur, young entrepreneur and academic entrepreneur of the year. The winners will be announced at The Summit Celebration Dinner at SWG3 in Glasgow on November 22.

A campaign seeking nominations launches on STV today.

Sandy Kennedy, chief executive of Entrepreneurial Scotland, said: “As we set out in our recent 2030 Strategy, for Scotland to thrive it is vital that we showcase and celebrate entrepreneurial role models of all kinds, wherever they are and at every stage of their journey.

“The five month long Summit campaign is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”
