THE Herald and Innovators Magazine have joined forces to bring the Global Game Changers Awards back for a second year.

Ten categories are available to enter in the awards which recognise and reward innovation and sustainability across all business sectors at an international level, and support the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Circular Glasgow is supporting the Circular Breakthrough category. Alison McRae, senior director at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, who is also a judge, said: “Entrants should demonstrate how their product or services help to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy, establishing a more sustainable way of doing business.”

The Young Pioneers award is supported by ScottishPower. Barry Carruthers, head of innovation, sustainability and quality, commented: “In the Young Pioneers Award, we hope to recognise the great innovations and personal dedication shown by those who also wish to strive to make significant positive change in our world.”

David Coyne, judge and programme director at the Centre for Work-based Learning which is supporting the Innovating in STEM Education/Training award, commented: “STEM education is crucial for preparing people with the skills and tools they need to thrive in the fourth industrial revolution.”

Meanwhile, the Empowering Intrapreneurship award is supported by City of Glasgow College. Douglas Morrison, STEM and innovation lead, said: “The Global Game Changer Award for Empowering Intrapreneurship seeks to celebrate the efforts of change makers who are driving economic value, social benefit and inclusive growth through improvements in workplace culture, processes and facilities.”
