REAL estate company Knight Frank has appointed a new head of building consultancy to drive forward business growth and expand the commercial property firm’s offering in Scotland.

Richard Whitfield joins from Colliers, where he led the surveying team for more than 10 years.

Based at Knight Frank’s Edinburgh office, Mr Whitfield will lead a team of surveyors in three offices across Scotland, helping to broaden the firm’s building surveying and project management services for current and new clients.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, Mr Whitfield has worked across the public and private sectors, dealing with all aspects of construction and due diligence.

PLANNING and design consultancy Barton Willmore has appointed Andrew Woodrow as planning associate in its Glasgow office.

He previously worked for real estate and investment firm CBRE, working across a range of high-profile projects including residential, hotel, student accommodation and shopping centre developments in Glasgow.

Mr Woodrow has also worked on large-scale retail parks in Dundee and South Lanarkshire plus urban expansion projects in South Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire. Barton Willmore has worked on projects including the regeneration of Pennywell in north Edinburgh.
