GRANGEMOUTH refinery owner Ineos has announced plans to invest £60 million to increase capacity at the associated chemicals plant. The company said it will build a tenth furnace for the production of ethylene, which is used in a range of petrochemicals. Ineos executive John McNally said the announcement demonstrated the firm’s on-going commitment to its manufacturing operations at Grangemouth. Mr McNally said having additional furnace capacity would provide a range of future opportunities for the site, where ethylene has been in continuous production for 25 years.
