SHE Software, the Scottish health and safety technology specialist, has more than doubled employee numbers over the past year after expanding overseas and moved into a new base in Lanarkshire to support continued growth.

The firm has increased total employee numbers to 87 from 42 in the last 12 months, helped by opening a base in Chicago.

Workforce numbers in Scotland have increased to 52 from 21. The company moved in to new headquarters in the Scottish Enterprise Technology Park in East Kilbride recently.

Chief executive Matthew Elson said the new space would provide the firm with the room it needed to increase staff headcount to 200 over the next 24 months and maintain the 60 per cent annual compound growth it has seen over the past three years.

The company says its Assure web-based system and mobile app reduces risk for organisations by simplifying health and safety management and is trusted by more than 850 organisations worldwide. It has turnover of around £4 million.

NVM Private Equity provided £3m growth funding for the firm in February. Investment director Charlie Winward said SHE Software provided a great example of the kind of exciting businesses the firm was seeing in Scotland.

SHE Software said then it planned to double the size of the development team in the head office.

The firm opened an office in New Zealand in 2016.
