A LOCH Ness hotel has been bought by a duo from Glasgow who worked in the hospitality sector as students.

Health and social care worker Isabella Kilgannon and Lesley Renton, who has been working in business management in the arts sector, are refurbishing the 12-bedroom Whitebridge Hotel, backed by a £342,000 commercial mortgage from Barclays. The hotel, used in the past as a hunting lodge, was established in 1899.

Ms Renton said: “Running our own business is something we’ve wanted to do for some time.”

Stuart Brown, of Barclays, said: “The business partners were introduced to relationship manager David Loughlin following a local recommendation and he has since provided support with the purchasing process.”
