Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 93 store heifers in Newton Stewart on Friday to a top of 212p per kg and an average of 183.1p, while 75 store bullocks peaked at 250p and levelled at 201.6p.
Wallets Marts had 137 head of store, OTM and breeding cattle forward in Castle Douglas yesterday when store heifers sold to205.1p and averaged 190p, while store bullocks peaked at 222.9p and levelled at 193.1p.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1197 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £86 per head and 193.8p per kg to average 160.4p (-1.9p on the week).
A plainer show of cast sheep saw 280 heavy cast ewes sell to £137.50 and averaged £70.41, while 460 light/export-type ewes peaked at £70 and levelled at £32.33.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 42 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 248p and an average of 215p (-6p), while 40 prime bullocks peaked at 240p and levelled at 212p (+3p).
In the rough ring 60 beef cows sold to 197p and averaged 125p (+8p).
There were also 1629 prime lambs that sold to £98 and 227.9p to average 168p (+6p).
The 569 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £143 and average £81, while light ewes peaked at £83 and levelled at £41.
The firm also sold 14 prime heifers in Carlisle to a top of 205.5p and an average of 183.9p (-14.3p), while 24 prime bullocks peaked at 228.5p and levelled at 211.7p (+8.8p). Forty-five prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 227.5p and averaged 189.3p (-1.6p), while 36 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 183.5p and levelled at 146.9p (-3.8p).
In the rough ring 129 beef cows sold to 184.5p and averaged 113.7p (-1.5p), while 282 dairy cows peaked at 138.5p and levelled at 82.9p (-2.5p). Seven bulls sold to 145.5p and averaged 116.5p (+17.8p).
There were also 1727 prime lambs that sold to £104.80 and 249.5p to average 164.7p (-2.9p).
The 282 heavy cast ewes forward sold to £112.50 and averaged £63.96, while 196 light ewes peaked at £62.50 and levelled at £26.77.
Lawrie & Symington sold 19 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 260p and an average of 238p (-1p), while 7 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 237p and levelled at 231p (-4p). Fourteen prime, B&W bullocks sold to 155p and averaged 140p (-3p).
In the rough ring 80 beef cows averaged 106p (-3p) and 46 dairy cows levelled at 84p (no change).
There were also 1739 prime lambs that sold to £95 and 207p to average 161p (+3p).
A large show of cast sheep saw 650 heavy ewes sell to £150 and average £66.76, while 816 light ewes peaked at £57 and levelled at £35.52.
