BREXIT holds no fear for Scottish entrepreneur Chris Forbes.
While multinationals stockpile goods and reshape their international footprints, the London-based founder of The Cheeky Panda company is forging ahead with plans to expand in Europe.
And his philosophy is quite straightforward. “Frankly, I’m fed up with some of the negativity,” said Mr Forbes, a St Johnstone diehard whose firm makes eco-friendly toilet tissue from sustainable bamboo.
“Brexit is being used an excuse not to do stuff. It doesn’t matter if you are in Italy, Spain, Sweden or Britain you still use the toilet and you still blow your nose.”
You certainly do!
Perfect partners
WHISKY and golf. It’s a pair that goes as naturally as salt ‘n’ vinegar (or salt ‘n’ sauce if you happen to be reading in Edinburgh).
Just ask whisky distiller Tomatin, which has just signed up to sponsor the Highland Golf Links Pro Am 2019. The 54-hole event will be played over the famous Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart and Nairn links from September 30 to October 2.
In addition to the cheque for coming first, the winning professional will also be presented with a 50 year old Tomatin single malt, which has an estimated value of £10,000.

THE gentrification of London’s uber-trendy east end provided a source of mirth for BBC Radio 6 Music presenter Shaun Keaveny, who tweeted the picture above earlier this week.
Never mind Dalston and Hackney, we thought to ourselves, this picture could just as easily have applied to Finnieston in Glasgow…
Young guns
FOUR young offshore industry professionals have been recognised for their career achievements after securing places on the shortlist for the 2019 Offshore Achievement Awards (OAAs)
The four were whittled down from an initial shortlist of six selected from over twenty entries, who faced an interview with a panel of industry experts.
The finalists are: Mike Adams, co-founder of Norwell Edge; Kieran Hope, managing director of Air Control Entech; Tristam Horn, CEO of DeltaTek and Daniel Millard, technical and managing director of Eserve.
The winner will be announced when the awards are staged at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday March 13.
Last year’s winner was Laura Steedman, a production support engineer at BP.
Ian Phillips, chairman of SPE Aberdeen, said: “It is always an incredibly tough job to choose the final selection as the calibre and passion of the young professionals that are nominated is always so high.
“As always, our judges were really impressed by the skillset and industry commitment of every person on our shortlist and each one of them should be proud to have been nominated.”
