STORAGE Vault Work Space, the flexible office group owned by entrepreneur John McGlynn, has officially opened its Cambuslang branch, with an unveiling by Glasgow City Council leader Susan Aitken.

Ms Aitken said it was helping to drive economic growth in the city.

The branch accommodates office and storage space for businesses.

Mr McGlynn revealed that £3m had been spent transforming the site, with one of three buildings, refurbished to Grade A quality, having previously been rejected as a crime scene for TV series Taggart it was in such a state of disrepair.

The 7.5 acre site is divided into three areas, with more than 20 tenants already in place, and just two vacant units left. Mr McGlynn said the site was a year ahead of schedule as of its official opening.

“There is a lot of doom and gloom in the economy at the moment, but this place is proof that there is demand for ultra-flexible space for businesses,” said Mr McGlynn.

The company already has facilities in Paisley and East Kilbride, and eight more at various stages of planning.
