A NEW network for entrepreneurs has been launched with the aim of offering Scottish and international business leaders “an opportunity to fulfil their global aspirations”.

The Glasgow-based Entrepreneurs in Residence network, which says it will cap its initial founding member intake at 250, has the backing of serial entrepreneur John McGlynn, chairman and founder of Scottish Capital, and Greg Anderson, founder of Blue Parrot Events Company.

It plans to deliver events and “inspirational leadership seminars” to “link Scotland’s entrepreneurial leaders with their peers and counterparts around the globe”.

This will include a regular “speaker series” featuring global entrepreneurs, and private dining events focused on specific topics of interest. Entrepreneurs in Residence has also declared its plans for a “glitzy annual dinner…which will celebrate the legacy of entrepreneurial culture”. The network also plans events focused on family-owned businesses.

Mr McGlynn said: “Entrepreneurs in Residence is a great idea whose time has come. We envision it as an exclusive group of people whose ambitions are global and who are able to offer each other the support and advice needed to help each other grow and thrive.”

Mr Anderson said: “There’s nothing like hearing from the ones who have been there and done that to make you think bigger and better.”

The events programme for Entrepreneurs in Residence will be managed by KL Events. Kylie Forrest, director of KL Events, noted her company had “worked with some of Scotland’s most prolific entrepreneurs over the past 20 years”.
