Workflo Solutions makes major move into IT
A major supplier of network photocopier, scan and print technology is significantly expanding its IT service capacity after appointing a former Silicon Valley IT expert.
Workflo Solutions, which has offices in Livingston and Glasgow, welcomes Fiona MacKellar from CCS Media, taking on a role as IT Services Manager as the company targets a trajectory growth in this area.
With almost 30 years’ experience in senior IT roles, Fiona spent six of them in California’s Silicon Valley working for computer component manufacturer, SMART Modular Technologies as a Sales and Semiconductor Account Manager.
She has also held positions for Compaq Computing Technology and Hewlett Packard, with a lengthy career spanning account management, business development and sales.
Founded 10 years ago by managing director, Michael Field, Workflo Solutions specialises in printers, photocopiers, scanner and document storage technology, setting its sights on further expansion into full-time service IT support and cloud computing.
Last year the company turned over £3.07m and reported a string of contract wins including the Royal British Legion and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.
Michael Field, managing director at Workflo Solutions said: “Fiona’s addition to the team is a major development for the business as we spread our focus further into the delivery of IT services.
“It’s been a very successful year for the company, working on a number of large installations of print and scan equipment for offices across the UK. We’re pleased to enhance our IT offering, providing Cloud technology, security and network support for both our existing client base as well as new partners.
“We’re one of the few companies which can provide a fully integrated package of managed print services alongside substantial IT solutions over different offices, regardless of size. Having everything coordinated by the one company which is also responsible for around-the-clock maintenance is proving to be an attractive proposal for businesses.”
Workflo Solutions has received a number of major accolades including making the shortlist across two categories in the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards and being recognised as Scottish Dealer of the Year for six consecutive years by Konica Minolta.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
