C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 197 store heifers in Dumfries on Monday to a top of 242.9p per kg and an average of 206.7p (+1.6p on the fortnight), while 200 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 255p and levelled at 209.2p (-1.7p). Seventeen store, B&W bullocks sold to 150p and averaged 136p (no comparison), while three store bulls peaked at 282.9p and levelled at 236.1p (n/c).

Messrs Craig Wilson sold 14 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of £1,403 per head and 245p per kg to average £1,250.69 and 226.4p, while six prime bullocks peaked at £1,040.25 and 219p to level at £958.69 and 197.1p. A prime bull fetched £1,044 or 180p.

In the rough ring 96 beef cows averaged 129.6p and 79 dairy cows levelled at 111.9p.

A small show of eight dairy cattle sold to £1,800 for a Holstein Friesian heifer and averaged £1,410.

Wallets Marts sold 1,046 prime lambs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £103 per head and 245.2p per kg to average £68.63 and 165.2p (-6.6p on the week).

There were also 533 cast sheep forward that sold to £96 for Texels, £80 for Mules and £52.50 for Blackfaces.
