Twenty-nine store, B&W bullocks sold to 181.5p and averaged 137.9p (-7.3p), while 3 store bulls peaked at 211.8p and levelled at 205.3p (+1.3p).

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1068 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £92 per head and 195.5p per kg to average 170.4p (+6.3p on the week).

A poorer show of 544 cast sheep saw heavy ewes sell to £140 for Texels and average £63.84, while light/export-type ewes peaked at £64 for Blackfaces and levelled at £33.79.

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 53 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 270p and an average of 229p (-6p), while 15 prime bullocks peaked at 248p and levelled at 221p (-2p).

In the rough ring 109 beef cows sold to 179p and averaged 126p (-7p).

There were also 1801 prime lambs that sold to £120 and 230.7p to average 176p (+10p).

The 419 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £95 for Texels and average £79, while light ewes peaked at £80 for Cheviots and levelled at £44.

The firm also sold 17 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 249.5p and an average of 207.4p (-26.2p), while 13 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 244.5p and levelled at 209p (-12.8p). Eight prime, dairy-bred bullocks sold to 172.5p and averaged 153.7p (+19p). Sixty-three prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 243.5p and averaged 194.9p (-6.1p), while 25 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 180.5p and levelled at 159.9p (+6.3p).

In the rough ring 120 beef cows sold to 200.5p and averaged 127.5p (-0.6p), while 211 dairy cows peaked at 163.5p and levelled at 100.2p (+5.9p). Ten bulls sold to 143.5p and averaged 127.4p (+9.7p).

A good show of 1944 prime lambs sold to £106.80 and 253.3p to average 176.7p (+4.2p).

There were also 64 heavy cast ewes that sold to £100 for a Suffolk and averaged £66.62, while 82 light ewes peaked at £67.50 for Hill Cheviots and levelled at £35.86.

Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 31 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 256p and an average of 240.5p (+2.3p), while 16 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 248p and levelled at 216p (+1p). Thirteen prime, B&W bullocks sold to 168.5p and averaged 148.1p (+11.6p).

In the rough ring 50 beef cows averaged 120p (-10p) and 46 dairy cows levelled at 91p (-1p).

The firm also sold 1328 prime lambs to a top of £102.50 and 223.3p to average 172.5p (-0.4p).
