KPS makes key appointments

GREEN energy business, Kite Power Systems (KPS), has ramped up its senior management team with teh appointments of Simon Heyes as chief executive and Andrew Tyler as chairman. 
The move follows the company’s decision to base its head office in Glasgow as it continues progress on its wind power technology, and follows Scottish Investment Bank’s recent £2 million investment in the company.
Mr Heyes joins from Infinis Energy Holdings. Mr Tyler is chief executive of international aerospace and defence company Northrop Grumman Europe and has been an advisor to KPS over the past two years.  
In addition, Sian George, a former chief executive of Ocean Energy Europe, is joining the KPS board as a non-executive director.
Mr Heyes said that with the support of KPS’ investors, which include Shell and E.ON, and its 24 staff, it was in a strong position to develop and commercialise its energy technology. 

Boost for Deloitte Digital Scotland

ACCOUNTANCY giant Deloitte is building on its Scottish digital offering with the appointment of a new leadership team at its Edinburgh headquarters.
Both Gareth Edwards and Debbi McLean have made the move to Deloitte Digital from Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mr Edwards has joined the firm to lead the expansion of its Edinburgh studio following the firm’s acquisition of proposition design consultancy, Market Gravity, in June.
He has held senior marketing positions at Scottish Widows and Bank of Scotland.
Ms McLean will be responsible for shaping and leading Deloitte's service design capability in Edinburgh.
The duo join an eight-strong team at Deloitte’s Edinburgh studio.
Mr Edwards said: “Our main focus will be to ensure our clients keep their customers at the heart of their propositions and we quickly learn what works and what doesn’t.”

Saunderson makes Close move

The Herald:

Close Brothers Asset Management is bolstering its presence north of the Border with the appointment of Bruce Saunderson as director of wealth structuring.
He joins the group’s Glasgow office after six years in PwC’s regulated advice team, which was recently acquired by Tilney. 
Prior to this, he was senior manager at wealth advisory firm Grant Thornton and a director of wealth management at Maclay Murray & Spens. 
Mr Saunderson will deliver CBAM’s wealth structuring proposition.
He said: “The flexibility of CBAM’s investment proposition stood out for me and the role fits my expertise of working with high net worth individuals and families."
