NORTH Sea-focused EnQuest has beefed up its board in a move that signals interest in mergers and acquisitions. The oil and gas independent has recruited US investment banker Laurie Fitch to become a non-executive director. EnQuest noted Ms Fitch would bring more than 20 years experience gained in a variety of investment and corporate finance roles to the company. The Georgetown University Arabic graduate is a London-based partner in the PJT Partners investment bank. EnQuest started production from the giant Kraken field off Shetland in June with Cairn Energy. It bought stakes in the Magnus field and Sullom Voe oil terminal from BP last year in an $85 million deal.
