THE Bottom Line is as guilty of thousands of office workers whose day to day lives are increasingly sedentary. Which is why we doff our cops to the concept of “On Your Feet Britain”, which takes place tomorrow. The initiative comes as a survey of employees from more than 2,500 companies found that around three-quarters sit for prolonged times as part of their working days, sometimes for 90 minutes at a time. Tomorrow, staff at firms taking part in On Your Feet Britain will be encouraged to take part in fun activities which break the harmful habit of “binge sitting”. Could be interesting as deadline approaches.

FOOD entrepreneur Ronnie Stebbings is looking forward to a date at Buckingham Palace.

It’s all because JUST, his gluten-free bakery firm, has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the innovation category. In our view the company deserves almost as many plaudits for the headline on its press release as its gluten-free products, having declared it is “floating on our flour clouds”.

IT will be a big day for Andy Anson, pictured, on Monday when he takes over as chief executive of Goals Soccer Centres. And there is an intriguing footballing backdrop to his story. In joining to Goals, the one-time commercial director of Manchester United has signed for a firm in which City Football Group, the owner of Manchester City, now holds a significant stake. We’re sure he’ll be reminded from time to time.

ROYAL Bank of Scotland has moved a step closer to resuming dividends after unveiling a deal to pay more into its main pension scheme. It had us wondering how different the world was in 2007, when it last made a payout to investors. 2007 was the year Alex Salmond was elected first minister and Tony Blair stepped down as prime minister.
