What is it?

A USB-C connected computer adapter that adds functionality through its peripheral ports.

Similar to the previously reviewed Moshi Multiport adapter, this unit offers additional connectivity ports for 4K HDMI monitors and two USB-A devices.

The big difference here is the built-in SD card reader which will really appeal to photographers due to its small form factor making portability easy.

Good Points?

The Multimedia adapter measures 10.4x3.8x1.4cm in size which will neatly fit in any pocket or bag compartment. It's constructed with a premium anodised aluminium casing which is sturdy and minimises electromagnetic interference.

The SD Card port is compatible with both SD and SDHC/XC UHS-I cards with speeds up to 104 Mbps. This enables fast and reliable data access with no interruption during transfers.

Also offering HDCP-compliant HDMI video output: 4K (30Hz) and FHD 1080p (60Hz) for crisp and accurate display. This is a must when editing high resolution images and video.

Bad points?

Moshi have created another great product without any obvious flaws, but this technology is pushing their adapters close to true laptop docks. I'd like them to add an ethernet port to become a true technological equivalent of a Swiss army knife.

Best for ...

Anyone with a USB-C compatible computer who would like to extend the number of devices to which it can connect without adding unwieldy bulk. This is important if you travel to different business sites who utilise different technologies.

Avoid if ...

Your computer comes with all designated ports natively or it has no USB-C to connect the adapter.
