VISITORS to Scotland's largest boat show will be able to try out yachts, motor yachts, rigid-inflatable boat (RIB) driving and dinghy sailing in the safe environment of Kip Marina for the first time at this year's expanded event.

The creation of a bigger ‘on water’ area for the RYA Scotland Free Taster Sessions mean boat enthusiasts can try out even larger vessels during the 'Free Taster Sessions' organised by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Scotland.

There will also be three days of free lectures and presentations in association with Practical Boat Owner covering themes ranging from buying a second-hand boat to the Met Office explaining how to ‘Read The Skies’, as well as representatives from various owner’s associations and manufacturers who can advise on how to start getting involved in every type water sport from sailing, powerboats, RIBs, jetskis, paddleboards, canoes or even model boats.

Now in its 31st year, Scotland’s Boat Show is showcasing a record number of exhibitors this year and will also lay on a range of other entertainment including a cooking demonstration by celebrity chef Nick Nairn.

For mobility impaired visitors, Clyde Muirshiel will again be featuring the wheelyboat ‘Discovery’, sailing taster sessions will be available in the accessible Hansa 303 dinghies and Able2sail, who offer voyages for individuals who are both able-bodied or have disabilities, will have their yacht open for visitors as will Ocean Youth Trust Scotland.

If something a little faster appeals, then you can take a ride in an F1 Powerboat, courtesy of Gordon Cook Racing, or a helicopter flight over Kip Marina and view the stunning scenery of the Firth of Clyde
