It’s still early into the new year but Scottish eyewear brand IOLLA have hit the ground running in 2018. Having just opened their second showroom, the company now provides its array of exciting and unique frames to customers both online and instore in Glasgow and new Edinburgh location in Stockbridge.
The Herald fashion team were invited to experience the new Stockbridge showroom and to view the new Spring 2018 collection, with final frames Livingstone II being revealed last week. To see our favourite designs and for a virtual tour of the beautifully lit interior, head to @theheraldfashion on Instagram and view our IOLLA EDI highlighted story of our visit.
The brand new collection for Spring 2018 includes four unbeatably flattering styles and seven exciting new colours in some of their already popular existing shapes. The new collection remains true to the usual stylish aesthetic of IOLLA, but they’ve stepped up the bold factor by introducing new features such as a bold double bridge or extra thick acetate rims.
New styles released for Spring 2018 include Somerville, named after astronomer Mary Somerville, and trendy semi-rimless Livingstone II frames. Both are available in prescription and non-prescription sunglasses as well as optical. Our favourite new colour has to be the see-through Teal Crystal shade, followed closely by Baby Pink Fade.
IOLLA was founded by two Glasgow based entrepreneurs who wanted to revolutionise the way people buy glasses. Streamlining production with in-house design and on-site glazing in their Cambuslang lab have allowed IOLLA to offer high quality prescription glasses at an incredibly accessible price.
At IOLLA, every pair of glasses is £65. Refusing to charge extra for ‘add ons,’ every pair of IOLLAs come with anti-scratch and anti-glare coatings as standard, with thinner lenses also included in the £65 all-in price for single vision glasses.
With celebrities such as Lupita Nyong'o, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep wearing stylish glasses to the 2018 Oscars, now is the best time to find the perfect type for your face when it comes to frames.
The IOLLA showrooms offer a unique and comfortable service whereby friendly stylists can take the time to give you all the help and advice you require. So, next time you’re in Stockbridge, go and say hello and start seeing the difference with IOLLA.
The new IOLLA Edinburgh showroom can be found at 22 North West Circus Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, EH3 6SX. Styles can also be bought online at IOLLA.com. Follow @iolla on Instagram to #SeeWithIOLLA.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
