Samantha Cameron aced it on the Great Sport Relief Bake Off – and nobody was more delighted than her husband.
David Cameron tweeted his congratulations after Sam Cam saw off footballer David James, comedian Jason Manford and EastEnders star Maddy Hill to take the honours in the Bake Off tent.
Congratulations to all the bakers on #GBBOSportRelief – it's a great cause. Very proud of Sam.

Sam wowed with some classy vol-au-vents and an impressive surfing-themed cake.

And with this sort of inspiration, why wouldn’t you make a surfing cake?

We hope the PM’s decent on a board because he’s clearly deficient in a few other areas.
SamCam mentioning that her husband isn't good at cleaning up the mess he leaves behind #GBBOSportRelief

Or to put it another way…
"My husband hasn't mastered clearing up as you go along" You can say that again #SamCam. #bakeoff

Sam certainly won herself a lot of friends though – and not just her husband.
Have to say #GBBOSportRelief was fantastic. Sam Cam worthy winner. Can't wait to see what @edballs can do with a whisk…

Obviously I'm biased but has their been a cooler PM's spouse than SamCam……….Cat Gladstone maybe? #GBBOSportRelief

Got to say SamCam is being a good sport on Bake Off. When I was a journo the photographers loved her which was a good character reference.

SAMCAM JUST DID A FIST BUMP! 👊🏻#GBBOSportRelief
— Jord (@jordan_wild) January 27, 2016
Politics aside, it's refreshing to see Sam Cam showing a bit of personality instead of silently standing and waving #GBBOSportRelief

Next up in the Bake Off tent: Ed Balls. No, really. Now that should be interesting…
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
