Eighties pop duo Go West will help a Glasgow brewery mark its 10th anniversary tomorrow.

WEST will celebrate 10 years in business with the opening of a new brewery, a new Courtyard wedding venue and an extra special birthday bash featuring none other than 80s pop duo Go West.

The new brewery on WEST’s site at the Templeton Building beside Glasgow Green multiplies its production capacity ten-fold.

The £5million investment in the new facility has created half a dozen new jobs and will enable the fast-growing brewer to bottle its range of niche beers such as Hefeweizen and Munich Red.

Guests at the birthday bash Go West are best known for hits We Close Our Eyes, Call Me and the Pretty Woman soundtrack single King of Wishful Thinking.

WEST founder Petra Wetzel

WEST founder Petra Wetzel said: “We’re celebrating our first decade with the opening of new facilities that show the scale of our ambitions to take WEST much further in our second decade.

“Designed in order to allow us to keep pace with growth in market demand for our products, our new brewery will ensure that more customers than ever before will be able to enjoy the unique taste of our product range.

“And our Courtyard incorporates a large dining room with a flexible layout that lends itself to various size gatherings, seating 140 for dinner or a standing reception for 220. It has its own private bar and bathroom facilities as well as the addition of a luxury-bridal-suite-come-green room."

WEST operates a full production brewery and is home to a stylish beer hall and restaurant with a beer garden overlooking Glasgow Green. WEST brewery, bar and restaurant is open seven days a week.
