What is it?

TV media box designed to complement your existing entertainment package subscriptions. The latest update to the Apple TV OS is now a few months old which is long enough to see if it has rectified the grumblings that have plagued the platform since its inception. The update includes several "must-haves" for any platform to be user friendly such as improved text input features which was a massive flaw in the previous releases.

Good points?

Apple have taken on board some of the criticisms levelled at the system and tried to streamline common actions like moving from one app to another. The new app switcher interface is slick without relinquishing the flexibility and power of the OS.

The biggest improvement, however, is the makeover of Siri's input and search functionality which although is still buggy in places will get the job of finding what you want and in half the time it took previously.

Bad points?

The Bluetooth remote is a step in the right direction but, as seems with most of Apple TV, it's not quite complete and can lead to frustration. The lack of iPhone connectivity only confounds the bizarre nature of the system.

There is no Amazon Prime video support yet which is puzzling given it is available on iPad and iPhone.
