LOOKING good at work is important for both men and women these days. So if you're hoping to find a new job, think carefully about how you present yourself.
In the second part of our work wear series we focus blokes, teaming up with John Lewis Glasgow’s in-store stylist Tricia Chennell and recruiters HR Consultancy to offer some hints and tips on how to nail the right look.
Hilary Roberts, managing director of HR Consultancy said: “We know only too well that first impressions count.
“Many workplaces no longer have a strict dress code meaning that employees can be a little more creative in their outfit choices, but we always recommend wearing what you feel comfortable, confident and ready to tackle the working day ahead in.”
This week’s case study: Marco Giordano, Accounts and Finance Manager at Aon.
Tricia says: “Marco works closely with a team of accountants and clients in a professional working environment, and his Italian heritage means he loves to be stylish.
“The classic tailoring on the navy Ted Baker suit lends itself perfectly, and the interior lining adds a fun modern twist. The suit jacket also works well paired with chinos or jeans, creating a more casual look.
“A pair of good quality leather shoes are a fantastic investment, and these tan lace up brogues are a nice alternative to black. We kept the look conservative with a pinstriped tie, but you could easily add a pop of colour or subtle pattern.”
