More than 300 props from T2 Trainspotting will be auctioned off this weekend in an effort to raise money for local charities in Scotland.

The items on sale range from a functional fridge which comes with "multiple bags of Tic-Tacs" which were used to represent drugs to a three-seater couch from Sick Boy's pub, the Port Sunshine.

There is also a lot of Hibernian memorabilia, including a scarf and tickets from last year's Scottish Cup Final triumph.

With no item having a reserved price, fans of the critically-acclaimed film could snap up items at prices as low as £10.

The item expected to fetch the most, however, is the full horseshoe bar from Port Sunshine, which has an estimate of £500-£700.

The Herald:

The event will take place this Saturday at Mulberry Bank Auctions in Glasgow and the proceeds will be split between two charities.

The Junction, a Leith-based charity of which creator Irvine Welsh is a patron will share the money raised with Calton Athletic, a Glasgow-based organisation which supports the recovery of drug addicts.

Members of Calton Athletic featured in T2 as well as the original film which was released 21 years ago.

A spokeswoman for Mulberry Bank Auctions said the interest in the auction far surpassed their expectations.

The Herald:

She said: "There has been a lot more interest than we could have expected. The interest has been from all around the world.

"There's even been one person saying they are going to come over from America to attend.

"There has already been a lot of high-end bids on certain items, but unfortunately I can't say which or how much until the auction is over."
