ONE of the problems cyclists face is getting their bikes on a bus. For example, though it is theoretically possible to go from Glasgow to Campbeltown by bus, when you check the web or phone it actually depends on the driver – and you can’t book in advance.

We managed to do it once after arguing and pleading with drivers to and from Campbeltown but in reality the bus is not an option. Scotland really needs to get more continental in its provision on buses like France, Spain and the likes.
