QIKSERVE, the mobile order and payment business, has reported that the installation of its platform at a restaurant in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport has transformed its ordering process.

The new Kebaya Asian Brasserie, operated by HMSHost International, a major world player in the food and hospitality industry, has seen 95 per cent of orders placed through QikServe’s tablet-based system in the five weeks since it opened.

When customers enter the restaurant, they can browse the menu at touch-screen kiosks and, when they sit down at their tables, they can choose to make their selection using Samsung tablets.

Edinburgh-based QikServe’s technology allows guests to order and pay for their food and drinks directly from mobile devices, tablets, kiosks and web sites, helping improve efficiency.

“It’s very encouraging to see the kind of results that HMSHost has achieved using mobile ordering at Kebaya, and we expect that the high proportion of guests using the system will also help drive increased revenues,” said Daniel Rodgers, chief executive of QikServe.
