A SCHOOL lollipop man has appeared in court accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a six-year-old child.

James Moran, 32, allegedly lead the child into a store cupboard, stripped her and took a picture of her.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today represented by defence lawyer Bill McCluskey who made no plea on Moran’s behalf.

Papers from the court claim Moran “did abduct” the child on May 2 at the Glasgow school and “did take her by the arm, lead her into a store cupboard and did detain her against her will”.

A second charge alleges Moran sexually assaulted the child by removing her clothing and underwear.

Prosecutors also claim Moran intentionally caused the youngster to “participate in a sexual activity in that you did cause her to stand in your presence and did take a photograph of her naked body”.

Moran, of Dalmarnock, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody following the short private appearance.
He is expected to appear again at court within eight days.

A source said Moran also did "odd jobs" around the school, including litter picking, and had worked there for "a number of years".
