EDINBURGH has been ranked 27 in the world city rankings for international association meetings, up eight places from last year after holding 76 meetings recognised by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), which compiles the rankings.

It is the highest ranking for the capital in a decade and is estimated to have made a £35 million economic impact in the city.

Glasgow was placed 50 in the rankings.

Elaine Miller at Convention Edinburgh said it was “a huge achievement and a testament to the hard work of a city-wide team of business tourism professionals”.
