KENNY Miller has backed Clint Hill, the 38-year-old defender who has been told he will not be having his contract at Rangers renewed this summer, to help the Ibrox club finish a disappointing season on a high by winning their final three Ladbrokes Premiership matches.

Caixinha, whose side take on Hearts in a league game at home this afternoon, confirmed on Thursday that he has informed three members of the squad he inherited from Mark Warburton they don’t feature in his plans for the future.

The Portuguese coach refused to make their names public - but it is believed that Hill and his fellow centre half Philippe Senderos will be two of those who will be moving on at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Miller, the 37-year-old forward who signed a new deal at the end of last month that ties him to his boyhood heroes until next summer, is determined for Rangers to beat Hearts, Aberdeen and St. Johnstone even though Europa League qualification has been secured.

He is confident that Hill, the former Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers man who scored a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Celtic at Parkhead back in March, and any other player who is being released, will continue to give their all for Caixinha’s team.

“I’m not privy to every conversation that goes on between staff and players, but I read what’s been reported,” he said. “I know big Phil is injured so I don’t know what kind of part he’ll be playing between now and the end of the season.

“Clint, knowing the man, the professional he is, the career he’s had, I don’t think there’s any doubt he will be taking his foot off the gas, he’ll be right up for the remaining three games if selected and will give everything for the cause. I’m sure he wants to finish his Rangers career on a high, which would be by winning three games.”
