A car was set on fire outside a property in a Kirkintilloch street late last night.
It is understood the vehicle was set alight in Ivanhoe Drive in the Hillhead area of Kirkintilloch at approximately 11.50pm on Saturday night.
Residents alerted emergency services after spotting the car engulfed in flames outside a property.
It is understood no one was injued.
A resident said: "There was an explosion in the street and I could see fire and a lot of smoke."
"I ran down to see if anyone was hurt but the car was empty."
"The fire brigade responded within minutes."
A spokesperson from Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "At approximately 23.53pm a fire was reported in Ivanhoe Drive, Kirkintilloch on Saturday, June 3."
"Two appliances were sent to the scene."
Police Scotland have been contacted for a comment. n
